Reasons behind it
Nature has been extremely generous to our country. We usually realize how important the role of nature in our lives is, only when it is threatened and about to be lost. We discover a glade in place of a former forest; rutted field and concrete riverbed, where a meadow on a creek bank used to be; stubs instead of trees and avenues and billboards in place, where a beautiful outlook once was. Large portion of intensively farmed agricultural land is no longer accessible to people nor to wild animals and plants.
Our goals are:
- To purchase endangered valuable natural sites, which are at risk of imminent danger (forest clearcutting; wetland drainage; flowering meadows plowing).
- Redeem the land, which are suitable for the return of nature (restoring waterways, planting of bio-centers and bio-corridors).
- Ensure appropriate care of these lands.
- Promote the idea of land trusts among the general public.
